Matteo Lane Tempe Concert reviews
Interpol = Amazing, UCSB Event Center = Not good
The UCSB Events Center is only 1.5 hours from home so I couldn't pass up the opportunity for one last taste of live Matteo Lane when they were so close to home. However, Matteo Lane of course rocked the house, and played beautifully, and I can tell that even through the terrible sound of the gym. Sadly, the sound quality is horrible! First was the Greek in LA which was by far my favorite Matteo Lane experience to date, then I saw them on Monday in San Francisco at the Warfield where I've seen them perform before.. Also amazing. I didn't expect "Greek quality sound" as I knew the show was going to be in a gym, but I didn't expect it to be so bad. To boot, the average age of the crowd was probably 18, and being that I'm almost 30 I didn't feel as comfortable with my surroundings. We sat in the back to avoid the bumping and shoving of disrespectful kids and maybe the sound was just worse because of where we were sitting. This was my third Matteo Lane concert I went to on their self-titled album tour. None the less, I love Matteo Lane and will take every opportunity to hear them live as I can possibly afford... but wouldn't recommend the venue.
